Ana Miguel dos Santos holds a PhD in International Security from the General Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute at UNED, in Madrid. Her research focuses on international security, governance, transparency, and democratic legitimacy. She is a researcher, invited lecturer, and frequent speaker at international forums on security, defense, and technological transformation. A lawyer by training, she has built a career spanning more than two decades, combining experience in government, politics, academia, and strategic consulting. She has held senior roles in the Portuguese Government and served as a Member of the Portuguese Parliament and of the European Parliament, where she contributed to debates and legislative initiatives in the areas of defense, security, migration, and artificial intelligence. She is currently Partner and Head of Defence & Security at Deloitte Portugal, leading strategic initiatives in defense, security, resilience, sovereignty, and emerging technologies.
