Born in São Tomé and Príncipe, he is the founder and creative director of [Spectroom], an atelier-laboratory working across architecture, design, technological research, and robotics. His practice is computational, (re)generative, holistic, and exploratory, and has led to the development of ArtCreTech – a framework that brings together art, creativity, and technology. Operating in “phygital” environments, at the intersection of physical spaces and digital systems, his work explores software and hardware as creative catalysts, turning pixels, virtual protocols, and data into tangible objects and sensory experiences. A pioneer in the use of generative, algorithmic, and parametric systems in design and architecture in Portugal, he defined the ten principles of computational (re)generative design in 2024. These principles reflect his practical experience, theoretical research, and engagement with the sociocultural contexts in which he works. His approach brings together AI, robotics, 3D printing, and sustainable new materials to shape new formal and spatial design directions. Over the past decade, he has presented his work at major international design events in Milan, Paris, London, Copenhagen, Eindhoven, Stockholm, Helsinki, Dubai, and Budapest. His work has received several national and international distinctions, including two Red Dot Design Awards, three German Design Awards, a Green Product Award, the Rising Talent distinction at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2019, and the Prototype Winner award at the Lexus Design Award 2018. In 2024, FRAME magazine named him one of its “Ones to Watch.” In 2026, he founded Spec_room – a space for tangible bits in Lisbon, a gallery dedicated to exhibitions exploring the intersection of creativity and technology.
